National Defence Academy
Conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, the NDA examination is the gateway to a commission in all three services. The examination is divided into two phases: the written examination and the SSB interview.
Age & status
Unmarried candidates 16½ – 19½ years on the first day of the month the course commences
Army wing
Class XII (10+2) or equivalent from a State board or university
Air Force & Naval wings
Class XII (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics
Candidates currently appearing in Class XII under the 10+2 pattern can also apply. Eligibility is published afresh in each UPSC notification — RDA checks every student’s eligibility against the latest notice before registration.
